Dr. Shelagh McCaffrey


Dr. McCaffrey received her undergraduate degree from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY before attending Oklahoma State University, where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She gained valuable experience in small mammal and exotic medicine working at The Bronx Zoo and completed an externship at The Veterinary Center for Birds and Exotics in Bedford Hills, NY.

Dr. McCaffrey is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association and the Association of Avian Veterinarians. She has been an adjunct professor at Manhattan College, where she taught an anatomy and physiology laboratory.

Dr. McCaffrey is a proud new mother and enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She has two King Charles Spaniels named Allie and Penny. In her spare time she enjoys running with her dogs, as well as skiing and hiking with her husband.
